God has uniquely blessed our church with the awesome vision of “Oneness”.  We have coined the phrase “One Church, One Sound…One Powerful Movement.”  That is God’s desire for His Church.  Philippians 2:2 says, “make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”   We believe that when we become “One” with God, we will have “Power” from the Holy Spirit and experience “Movement” of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The charge to grow God’s people from “spiritual infancy” to “spiritual maturity” has been a priority for the Leadership of this church.  We are committed to “making disciples of Christ” according to God’s plan.  Bible Way has been developing our Leadership team (Elders, Ministers, Deacons and Deaconess) to shepherd the congregation through doctrinal and practical training.  It is no coincidence our name is Bible Way, because we believe in doing God’s work God’s way.  The Bible is the C.O.R.E of our church.  We have core values, core behaviors and core activities which all lead to spiritual growth.  Click on the C.O.R.E. link to see where you stand.

From our beginnings in 1975, Dr. Ivory L. Varner has followed the vision that God has given him.  After moving from schools, recreation centers and hotels, we finally found a home in 1994 at 9000 Frey Road in Houston, Texas.  Over the years we had purchased additional property for future expansion as the body continued to grow.  In 2001 we obtained our current location at 10120 Hartsook Road in Houston, Texas.  We have a wonderful worship center and McNair Ministry Center for staff offices, Sunday school and other ministry activities.

Our facility at 9000 Frey road houses our Community Development Corporation, OnePowerfulMovement, Inc.  In June of 2003 we opened our first summer program for our children and the community.  We began to experience “movement” in August of 2003 when Bible Way Christian Academy began its first semester of school from pre-kindergarten to 3^rd grade. Since then we have grown from 9 kids in 2003 to 31 in 2005.

Dr. Ivory Varner has always had a passion for planting churches as a means of further impacting the world.  Bible Way has planted several churches over the past twenty years.  Such churches include Faith Bible Baptist Church, Community Bible Church, Internal Hope Church and Conquerors Bible Fellowship Church.  Bible Way is also committed to supporting numerous mission projects and makes a yearly trip to the nation of Kazakhstan in Russia to teach pastors of that country. 

God is continually adding to the body at each worship service.   With a current membership of 700+ and counting we will soon begin preparing for future expansion.  Come join us for some exciting times at Bible Way Fellowship Baptist Church…come “in the House” and experience the movement!
